Introduction
Hey guys, are you ready for an adventure like no other? I just came back from a mind-blowing 15-day tour in Xinjiang, and I’m super excited to share my experience with you. This place is like a treasure trove of natural wonders, rich culture, and delicious food. Let’s dive in and explore the depths of this magical land!
Day 1-3: Arrival and Bishkek
My journey started with a long flight from Beijing to Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang. The first few days were spent getting acclimated to the high altitude and exploring Bishkek, the vibrant capital city. I loved the mix of Soviet-era buildings and modern skyscrapers. The food was a treat too, with a variety of kebabs and plov.
Day 4-7: The Silk Road
Next up was the famous Silk Road, a historical route connecting the East and West. We visited Turpan, a city known for its ancient oasis and the Flaming Mountains. The landscape was surreal, with towering sand dunes and a vibrant desert. We also stopped by the ancient city of Gaochang, which was a hub of trade in ancient times.
Day 8-10: The Heavenly Lake
After the desert adventure, we headed to the Heavenly Lake (Tianchi), a stunningly beautiful alpine lake surrounded by lush forests. The air was so fresh, and the scenery was like something out of a fairy tale. We even went hiking and camping around the lake, which was an unforgettable experience.
Day 11-14: Urumqi and the Yili River Valley
Back in Urumqi, we explored the local markets and tried some authentic Uyghur food. The city has a lot to offer, from vibrant bazaars to beautiful Islamic architecture. We also visited the Yili River Valley, a picturesque area known for its lush greenery and beautiful landscapes.
Day 15: Departure
Finally, it was time to say goodbye to Xinjiang. I left with a heart full of memories and a longing to come back. This place is truly magical, and I can’t wait to share more of my adventures with you all.
