Depart from Chengdu in the morning, pass through Neijiang (the "Sweet City"), Zigong (hometown of dinosaurs), and Yibin (the first city on the Yangtze River), then visit Lizhuang Ancient Town. D4 Chengdu / Dujiangyan / Qingcheng Mountain / Chengdu
Depart from downtown Chengdu at around 06:50 for Dujiangyan. Visit Dujiangyan Scenic Area (a world cultural heritage), including Baopingkou Water Inlet, Feishayan Flood Discharge Dam, Yuzui Water Diversion Dyke, and Anlan Suspension Bridge; tour Qinyan Tower (rebuilt after the 5.12 Earthquake) and Erwang Temple (in memory of Li Bing and his son). Take the elevator to Yulei Pavilion for a panoramic view of Dujiangyan (at own expense).
Have lunch at around 12:30 (30 minutes).
Depart for Qingcheng Mountain Scenic Area (a world cultural heritage and birthplace of Taoism) at around 13:30 (3 hours). Take a shuttle bus to the entrance (at own expense) and a cable car to Shangqing Palace (at own expense), enjoying tranquil Taoist temples and natural scenery.
